The Creamy Spinach Maccheroni from Donna Pastaia is the ideal illustration of how the company combines fresh vegetables and authentic flavours to produce outstanding food. This dish celebrates the brand's commitment to nourishing the body and the senses by elevating the delicious bite-sized pasta for kids with a creamy, cheesy sauce. Totally kids friendly dishes as they are handmade pasta creations that are as nutritious

  • 250g Donna Pastaia Spinach Maccheroni
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk (preferably whole milk)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • Cook the Spinach Maccheroni: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to the package instructions or until they are al dente. Donna Pastaia's handmade pasta cooks quickly, so keep a close watch. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.
  • Prepare the Cheese Sauce: In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the all-purpose flour and whisk continuously to create a smooth roux. Cook the mixer for about 1-2 minutes, being careful not to let it brown.
  • Add Milk and Create Sauce: Gradually pour in the milk while whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Continue whisking until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth, resembling a creamy sauce. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
  • Cheese Infusion: Reduce the heat to low and start adding the shredded cheddar cheese to the sauce. Stir until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is creamy. Then, add the grated Parmesan cheese and continue stirring until it's fully incorporated.
  • Serving and Garnish: Carefully transfer the Creamy Spinach Maccheroni with Cheese to serving plates or bowls. Add cheese for the garnishing so that kids would love it.
